Van Leeuwen Organic Ice Cream Truck

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

A couple weeks ago I decided to finally try some of the expensive organic ice cream from the truck parked outside the building where I work. As I ordered and waited for my $3.95 large scoop of espresso ice cream delicious-ness, I noticed a guy inside filming another guy talking about the ice cream. Now that video is up HERE on New York Magazine‘s website. Yummmmmmm.

Busy, busy, busy.

Things are going quite swell at NYLON. Wish I could say they’re chugging along as smoothly in my desperate, last-minute search for a new apartment… Seems everyone I meet would love to have me as a roommate, but can’t quite deal with the adorable kitty I’d bring with me…

Here’s some cute street art animals that help cheer me up a bit.

Cross your fingers and call your friends for me.

Why yes, my new job is going swell, thanks.

A week and a half on the job, and I’m still loving my new position at NYLON designing graphics, e-newsletters, youtube skins, ads, blah blah blah. Yes, I like what I do, and yes, I do truly believe that it’s better to be happy 24 hours/day than to work your butt off half that time and make more money, but be half as happy. This works for me right now, and I encourage everyone I know (or don’t know yet – thanks for reading my blog even though we’ve never met, i love you) to find something similarly as comfortable. Imagine how much different the world would be if everyone was happy at their job.

Done Day

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Today is my last day. Tonight I head up to Massachusetts. Tomorrow the beach, then Elvis Costello and The Police. Then family and Yo Yo Ma at Tanglewood. I’m bringing one of the vintage cameras I’ve started collecting, this one being one of the first I acquired. And it’s got film in it.

New Digs – Almost There

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Amanda (I will soon be “the new Amanda” as Faran likes to put it) just sent me this link.

These are some pictures of the NYLON Magazine office, where I’ll soon be employed. Tomorrow will be my last 8 hours at Hearst, then back to the location of my previous, and final, internship to dominate.
