Sorry I don’t have much to post the past umm… week.

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

So I’ve been horribly busy (despite last week being my “spring break” from grad school) with very little to show for it as far as photography and design. My deepest apologies. I promise there will be things to post very soon.

For now though, to tide you over until I have more to view, go to the NYLON website, where all of the NYLON related ads (ie. Urban Outfitters T-shirts and “Subscribe Now”) were created by me. To see all of the ads without searching every page of the website, just check out my previous posts about all the ads.

“Subscribe Now” Ads I Made for NYLON Magazine

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

So about a week ago I was asked to make some more ads for NYLONmag.com. This time, we needed a whole new series of “Subscribe Now!” type ads to throw onto the website every so often, keeping the page looking fresh until our redesign. To make them I used photos from our latest few cover shoots - with Mary-Kate Olsen, The Kills, Evan Rachel Wood, and Cory Kennedy with Taylor Warren. I made far more than necessary to make sure there were plenty to choose from and only the best made it onto the site. While only about one third of them were ultimately picked to be used, I saved them all on my flickr account to show off.

Check them all out!

New NYLON x Urban Outfitters T-Shirt Ad Banners

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

As part of a push to keep the website looking fresh, we’re actively working on redesigning the NYLON ad banners that we show on the site. They’re updated every week or so, which means we have to be constantly coming up with new designs in our spare time. These were the banners I designed this time around.

There are 5 ad banners in total, but here’s one as an example:

NYLON and Apple and ME!

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Yet again, things I’ve made for NYLON these days. Click the images to read the article accompanying it.

By the way - if you look at the last one, it’s about the fact that Apple’s new TV commercial for the iTouch shows the NYLON magazine website. If you look at the page they show on the iTouch, look to the upper righthand corner.

I made that ad.

You can see the commercial (as of posting date) on the Apple website here or on YouTube here.

Mac ‘n’ Manhattan

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Yesterday my mom and her good friend Rosemary came down for a visit. Tom joined us for the jaunt as we zipped down and up and down and up again through Manhattan, hitting up some very essential favorite places. First, to Smac for some of the best macaroni and cheese in existence. This time, I tried the goat cheese with olives, spinach and mushrooms. I really think by the end of the year, I’ll have tried every set dish they have on their menu. I’m almost there already if you include trying dishes other people have ordered. I only have about 2 or 3 left to go.

After that, we headed uptown to the Whitney Museum to see what exhibits were going on. Some really “interesting” stuff going on up there right now. We took a tour of the Weiner exhibit on the 5th floor, and if we hadn’t, I could never have appreciated it as much as it should be. It’s some out there, over-thought, ultra-simplistic looking stuff. One of the most interesting parts of the exhibit were the museum’s attempts to immerse the entire building in this retrospective, including putting some of it outside, and even making the elevator a part of it, which most people wouldn’t realize unless they read about it or took the tour upstairs. Examples:

After we got all cultured up, we down to SoHo to visit Rice to Riches where we actually saw Michael Rapaport fighting with his girlfriend and looking verrry angry about whatever they were discussing.

I snapped a quick picture of some interesting graffiti before bidding the gals adieu.
