Sorry I don’t have much to post the past umm… week.

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

So I’ve been horribly busy (despite last week being my “spring break” from grad school) with very little to show for it as far as photography and design. My deepest apologies. I promise there will be things to post very soon.

For now though, to tide you over until I have more to view, go to the NYLON website, where all of the NYLON related ads (ie. Urban Outfitters T-shirts and “Subscribe Now”) were created by me. To see all of the ads without searching every page of the website, just check out my previous posts about all the ads.

New NYLON x Urban Outfitters T-Shirt Ad Banners

As part of a push to keep the website looking fresh, we’re actively working on redesigning the NYLON ad banners that we show on the site. They’re updated every week or so, which means we have to be constantly coming up with new designs in our spare time. These were the banners I designed this time around.

There are 5 ad banners in total, but here’s one as an example:

NYLON and Apple and ME!

Yet again, things I’ve made for NYLON these days. Click the images to read the article accompanying it.

By the way – if you look at the last one, it’s about the fact that Apple’s new TV commercial for the iTouch shows the NYLON magazine website. If you look at the page they show on the iTouch, look to the upper righthand corner.

I made that ad.

You can see the commercial (as of posting date) on the Apple website here or on YouTube here.

T.G.I.NYLON

So today I got to try my hand at making ad banners for NYLONmag.com (minus the coding, strictly design layouts). The magazine has a partnership with Urban Outfitters having to do with a series of T-Shirts sold through UO. On the NYLON website, just about the only ads you’ll ever find are for this partnership, advertising the shirts they selected to endorse. As part of the new push to update the website, we were given the task of updating all of the ad banners, with other photos from the original promotional photoshoot and a new color scheme. The job was given entirely to me and went through approval without a single problem, posted straight to the website and replacing the old ads.

The banners now look something like this:

and you can check out the website to see all the different ones live.

**UPDATE** We’re now changing the ad banners more frequently – think weekly – so these banners are no longer live on NYLON’s website. You can still check them all out to see my work on the flickr page though. **
