Thakoon for Target

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I have to finally admit this openly: I am so ridiculously excited that Thakoon was pegged as the next designer for Target’s Go Collection. I try not to get too ridiculously wrapped up in the fashion obsession that I could potentially develop, but oh man, when I saw his Fall ‘08 show back in the spring, I fell in love. First of all he is adorable:

I saw Anna Wintour for the first time at his show (almost bumped into her backstage actually when she was talking to Thakoon), he is eco-friendly - known to be seen sipping out of Sigg reusable water bottles and used environmentally-friendly hair products for the show, and every single design was ephemerally beautiful. I’m just crossing my fingers his designs will look anything like the designs I saw that day.

And not like the Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear 2009 collection that just showed this past week…. Not a fan.

Geren Ford Spring 2009 Presentation

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Last night I attended the presentation of Geren Ford’s Spring 2009 collection for New York Fashion Week, covering model Laura (aka. Texas) backstage for all of her prep and then briefly checking out the actual presentation before dashing out. An edited batch of the photos will be posted on New York Fashion Week, covering model Laura (aka. Texas) backstage for all of her prep and then briefly checking out the actual presentation before dashing out. An edited batch of the photos will be posted on NYLONmag.com sometime today, but be sure to check out the full un-edited set on my flickr account for lots of pretty photos like these:

Etsy Find: Brookadelphia

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Brooklyn + Philadelphia + adorable jewelry with a statement = Brookadelphia.

I am super glad I stumbled across this company. They caught my eye on the Etsy homepage with a recently added gold “vote.” necklace.

Aside from this cute necklace (also available in silver by the way), there are earrings like these:

and necklaces like these:

So really, what’s NOT to love about them?

Something I got at NYLON.

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

At NYLON, we get a lot of stuff in the office - makeup, lotions, CDs, books, shoes, random attire, blah, blah, etc. Some of, quite frankly, is complete crap, and gets instantly thrown onto the freebie table, most likely never to be seen again, or maybe potentially be snagged by an intern. Luckily, last week, I was pleasantly surprised by this company Riot Tuxedo. They sent me over two shirts from their current collection and they are organic cotton, super soft, and so extremely tre cool.

I got this one:

and this one:

So we gratefully blogged about the company on NYLON here. Check them out. Their shirts are awesomeeeeee.

St. Tropez Leisure Camera Print Swimsuit with Adjustable Straps

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Dear St. Tropez Leisure,
I’m obsessed with your Camera Print Swimsuit with Adjustable Straps. This bathing suit is too cute. I know, I know. I like it because it has a camera on it, a screenprinted camera nonetheless. It’s beautiful and perfect and sooooo me. But far too expensive for my budget even if that price was in dollars, not pounds!

Someday St. Tropez, someday.

Love,
Kelly
