This necklace by Aroha Silhouettes took my breathe away. My nerdy, book-loving breath. Gone.
And it’s made from old vinyl records…. le sigh. I’m in love.

Ever since the first time I stumbled upon Supermarket HQ, I’ve been in love with the jewelry of Melanie Favreau. I’ve been doing my best to try to avoid going on any more jewelry buying shopping sprees, and keeping my purchases to (very) cheap items, but I can feel my strength withering. These earrings are too much for me to handle… I need to have them.
and that’s just the first item in her shop I don’t want to live without… There are several more I’d love to have as well.
Click to see a few others.

There are some days when I’m convinced, marriage just isn’t in my future. It’s not a pessimism in me or anything like that, but rather, I just don’t feel like I’ll ever be completely 100% settled on the person I’ve chosen to date long enough to allow myself to be proposed to.
And then there are days like today, when I find (collectively) $0.28 throughout the day and read art and design blogs until I find this, my engagement ring. To the man who wants to marry me - if you really do, put this around my neck, rather than a ring around my finger (I’ll wear a ribbon instead, who cares.):
That’s how I’ll know you really love me.
I came across these Miju jewelry pieces a couple weeks ago and have kept the link open on my firefox the entire time, going back to them every few days to yet again internally debate whether or not I should buy them… For now, I’ve decided to just post them here to remember how much I love them, and maybe someday in the next few months, that strong spending feeling will catch up with me and I’ll order one. Or someone really, really awesome will buy them for me instead (preferably one of the white necklaces thanks!).

I have to finally admit this openly: I am so ridiculously excited that Thakoon was pegged as the next designer for Target’s Go Collection. I try not to get too ridiculously wrapped up in the fashion obsession that I could potentially develop, but oh man, when I saw his Fall ‘08 show back in the spring, I fell in love. First of all he is adorable:

I saw Anna Wintour for the first time at his show (almost bumped into her backstage actually when she was talking to Thakoon), he is eco-friendly - known to be seen sipping out of Sigg reusable water bottles and used environmentally-friendly hair products for the show, and every single design was ephemerally beautiful. I’m just crossing my fingers his designs will look anything like the designs I saw that day.

And not like the Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear 2009 collection that just showed this past week…. Not a fan.
