Thakoon for Target

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I have to finally admit this openly: I am so ridiculously excited that Thakoon was pegged as the next designer for Target’s Go Collection. I try not to get too ridiculously wrapped up in the fashion obsession that I could potentially develop, but oh man, when I saw his Fall ‘08 show back in the spring, I fell in love. First of all he is adorable:

I saw Anna Wintour for the first time at his show (almost bumped into her backstage actually when she was talking to Thakoon), he is eco-friendly - known to be seen sipping out of Sigg reusable water bottles and used environmentally-friendly hair products for the show, and every single design was ephemerally beautiful. I’m just crossing my fingers his designs will look anything like the designs I saw that day.

And not like the Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear 2009 collection that just showed this past week…. Not a fan.

Geren Ford Spring 2009 Presentation

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Last night I attended the presentation of Geren Ford’s Spring 2009 collection for New York Fashion Week, covering model Laura (aka. Texas) backstage for all of her prep and then briefly checking out the actual presentation before dashing out. An edited batch of the photos will be posted on New York Fashion Week, covering model Laura (aka. An edited batch of the photos will be posted on NYLONmag.com sometime today, but be sure to check out the full un-edited set on my flickr account for lots of pretty photos like these:

Kate Moross Makes Awesome T-Shirts

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Came across these shirts via CoolHunting today.

The shirts are limited edition, the design is simple yet inspired, the designer - Kate Moross - is quirky (check out her window doodles for the capsule collection she created for TopShop), adorable, and has a fantastic celeb following.

Buy me one of these if you love me.

Playing Catch-Up. Part 2.

Jenni Kayne was quite possibly my favorite show that I attended fashion week - in the sense that I would most want to wear the clothes I saw there. It was a great way to end the week.

The show was a presentation, ie. not a runway show. The models are dressed up and arranged how the designer chooses and the press and whoever else is invited comes and stares at them and the living mannequins creep you out by staring deep into your soul but not moving unless told to by a higher up or a camera-wielder.

I made this graphic for NYLONmag.com and some of the images are up on the website. Flickr album of all, unedited images to come soon. For now, click the graphic to see the NYLON gallery.
