NYLON and Apple and ME!

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Yet again, things I’ve made for NYLON these days. Click the images to read the article accompanying it.

By the way – if you look at the last one, it’s about the fact that Apple’s new TV commercial for the iTouch shows the NYLON magazine website. If you look at the page they show on the iTouch, look to the upper righthand corner.

I made that ad.

You can see the commercial (as of posting date) on the Apple website here or on YouTube here.

Woodley & Bunny: The Boutique

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Yesterday morning I got to check out Woodley & Bunny‘s new clothing boutique and take a few picture for NYLON. The store officially opens with full hours later in March, but it’s practically set up and ready for business from the look of it. The boutique is in the space where the salon originally was house and boasts beautiful wood floors, lots of open space, lots of small lights above, and an overall hip, loft-like feel to it. They have everything wearable imaginable in there: clothing, accessories, sunglasses, belts, shoes, even clothing for guys. A very small selection of the photos I took there are on NYLON’s site now so just click the graphic above to see them and read Samantha’s far more eloquent write-up about the boutique, salon, and apothecary.

Things I’ve Made For NYLON Lately

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

More graphics I’ve made for NYLON below. They just keep coming, I know. Don’t get bored. Lately I’ve been working a lot on building up a cache of new ad banners for nylonmag.com. That way we can change them every week or so and keep the page looking “fresh” until we get more advertisers to give us lots of money to put their banners on the site as well.

Click the graphics to see the article accompanying them, or just bask in my photoshop glory from the distance of this page.

Fast Times at Fat Cat

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Saturday night, the roomies and I (minus Alex, but including Chris Z, the long-term temporary couch-crashing roommate) went to check out a place called Fat Cat in the West Village/Greenwich Village area. They have amazing live jazz every night until closing, but as we found out, on a weekend night, you better get there pretty early (think 7-8pm) to get a seat on one of the couches to listen. In addition though, they have far too many other activities to keep you busy – pool, ping pong, scrabble, foosball, shuffleboard, chess, you name it. The place was packed – with NYU undergrads because of the location… – but pretty fun and engaging. Towards the end of the evening, I hunkered down with my camera and just took some fun action shots of the boys playing ping pong.

Click ‘em to see the entire album as always.

Tigger Tackles the Mountain, er, Medicine Cabinet

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Our cat, Tigger, is quite the climber. On Saturday we were all in the living room and heard him meowing from the bathroom. When we went to see what was going on, it turned out he had climbed up to the top of the medicine cabinet over the sink somehow and was sitting proud. We brought him back down to earth and then I photo-documented every step of his journey to the highest point in the room. See below, every step of his journey. Click any of the images if you’d like to see the full album.

Sittin’ proud at the top of the world.
